The Eames DAR Chair

The DAR Chair by Charles and Ray Eames is a member of the famous Plastic Chair series. The main difference compared to the DSR Chair is the shape of the seat. The plain and beautiful seat shell of its counterparts, that already consists of a backrest and the seat, is completed by the added armrests. This seat can be found also at the DAW Chair and the RAR Rocking Chair. The base consists of a construction made of braces that makes its reference to the 'Eiffel Tower'. The DAR Chair is implementable in many places. Mainly in the private area it is used as a chair for the dining room. However, due to its outstanding design it can be found more and more frequently in public spaces, just as office rooms, practices, lobbies and restaurants.

The artist couple of the Eameses designed the Plastic Chair series in the 1930s. It consists of many different chairs and seat shells in main shapes with or without armrests and the different bases. They can be combined widely to create a new version of the Plastic Chair.
